Gaikwad slams seven sixes in an over

Ruturaj Gaikwad wrote himself into the history books after becoming the first man to hit seven sixes in an over in List A cricket. Gaikwad, 25, achieved the feat in the 49th over of the Vijay Hazare Trophy quarterfinal clash between Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. After hitting three sixes, he dispatched a no-ball for another maximum. The free-hit fifth ball and the final delivery also went for sixes making it 43 runs for the over – the joint-most expensive over in List A cricket history.

Gaikwad finished with 220* off 159, an innings studded by 16 sixes and 10 fours. Riding on his stellar double ton, Maharasthra posted a strong total of 330/5
