District Sheep Husbandry Pulwama Notification 2020
Establishment of Sheep / Goat units in private sector for the year 2020-21 in District Sheep Husbandry Organization Pulwama
Applications on prescribed formats are invited from the interested unemployed persons of District Pulwama for establishment of sheep / Goat units under different schemes subjected to availability of funds for the year 2020-21.
Central/ District Sector
25 ewes Sheep units (Participatory mode)
25 Elite Female ewes/ hogget’s shall be provided to the beneficiary free of cost.
From third year onwards five ewes/female hogget’s from the progeny shall be retrieved per year till complete retrieval of 25 female hogget’s /ewes.
10 ewes Sheep units ( Participatory mode )
10 Elite female hogget’s /ewesShall be provided free of cost by the department, besides 10 female hogget’s shall have to be made available by the beneficiary himself/ herself to complete a unit of 10+ 10.
From third year onwards two female hogget’s /ewes from the progeny be retrieved per year till complete retrieval of 10 female animals
10 Does / Goat units (Participatory mode)

Elite Female Goats/does shall be provided to the beneficiary free of cost.
From third year onwards two female Goats from the progeny shall be retrieved per year till complete
retrieval of 10 female goats.
NOTE: Those persons who have applied for Goat units for the year 2019-20 need not to apply again
District Sector (SCA to TSP) 10 ewes sheep units
10 ewes sheep units shall to be established in favour of Tribal areas only (SC/ST) among beneficiaries where in the beneficiary has to bear 50% of the total livestock.
50% insurance amount for the first year only to be provided by the Department.
Free transportation shall be provided by the Department.
Free concentrate ration for 90 days during first year shall be provided by department
Mini Sheep Farms (MSF) scheme( SO ewes units) Salient Features
Scheme adopted by J&K Bank
loan facility by the bank =Rs. 2.00 lacs
Marginal money to be borne by the beneficiary = Rs. 37500/=
Backend subsidy Rs. 0.60 lacs to be extended by the department as interests subsidy.
Insurance coverage of live stock to be born by the beneficiary
The cost of the unit above and beyond Rs. 2.00 lacs shall be born by the beneficiary himself in order to
complete the 50 ewe unit.
The application forms can be obtained from all the Sheep Development Block head quarters of the District
at Pulwama, Kakapora Shadimarg, Padgampora, Newa, Wuyan , Aripal, Tral w.e.f 20-07-2020 to 10-08-2020 on all
working days during office hours which shall have to be submitted back up to 20-08-2020.
Applicant should be above 18 of age as on 01-01-2020.
The applicant should posses a sheep shed along with minimum land holding to take care of fodder.
the applicant should have some prior experience in sheep rearing
The applicant should not have taken benefit of any other subsidy scheme (bankable or non bankable) &
should give undertaking of same on a affidavit dully attested by the 1st Class magistrate /public notary.
The Application should be dully recommended by the VAS /Block Officer & I/c of SEC of the concerned area after complete verification on ground.
Selection of beneficiary shall be made through draw of lots mentioned any convenient date to be fixed by the chairman of Selection committee of the District Pulwama,which shall be communicated to the applicants in time.
