Applications on prescribed format are invited from the eligible candidates for the below-mentioned positions available in the research project titled “Understanding the biodiversity of Odonata (Class Insecta) of Kashmir Himalayan Region with reference to Climate Change”. The project has been sanctioned to the Mantaqi Centre of Science & Technology, Islamic University of Science & Technology, Awantipora by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, New Delhi. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the duration of the project.
Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Number of Posts: 01
Remuneration/Salary per month: Rs. 25000+HRA per month
Eligibility/Educational Qualifications: Essential:
1. M.Sc. in Zoology/Life Sciences/Biodiversity (with subjects//B.Sc. Zoology (Honours) from a
specialization in Entomology)
2. NET qualified.
Desirable:
Candidates with research experience of handling of insects/molecular biology tools, insect taxonomy & biodiversity, climate change, knowledge of data analysis
Knowledge of Computers
PhD candidates can also apply.
Willingness to travel extensively in Kashmir Himalayan Region.

Number of Posts: 01
Remuneration/Salary per month: Rs. 22000/- per (for first two years) and Rs. 28000+HRA per month (for 3rd month (Consolidated) year
Eligibility/Educational Qualifications: Essential:
1) Graduation (B.Sc.) with Zoology as one of the M.Sc. in Entomology recognized university.
2) One year of project related experience after
Desirable
M.Sc. in Zoology/Life Sciences/Biodiversity (with specialization in Entomology)/ M.Sc. in Entomology
Knowledge of computers
Field/lab work experience.
Willingness to travel extensively in Kashmir Himalayan Region.
Note:
Non-NET candidates can also apply. In case no NET candidate is available/selected for the position of JRF, the non- NET candidates can be considered as Junior Project Fellow, however they shall be paid lesser salary.
