DWBI is neutral, impartial, independent, and not linked to any political party or government Our teams provide emergency medical assistance to people in need, irrespective of their nationality, race or religion. DWBI has been working in the Kashmir valley since 2001.
Position : Counsellor Educator
Location of job : Tral ( Preference will be given to candidates hailing from Tral area)
Duration :1 year (renewable)
Start Date : January 2022
No. of Position : 2 (Two)
Key Requirement : Masters in Psychology
Experience : 1 year experience in mental Heath counseling, Experience with an NGO is desirable.
WE OFFER :
Salary Gross (INR): 31,403/- per month (non-negotiable)
18 days annual leave; 12 days paid leave as per specified list of holidays; Sick/Casual leave of 12 days as per calendar yeal (pro-rated based on hire date).
Contributions made for statutory benefit programs such as Provident Fund.
Covered under accident insurance.
DWBI provides medical reimbursement for employees and their dependents as per health care policy.

PURPOSE OF POST :
Perform counselling and/or education sessions to patients, following different medical and mental health DWBI protocols and procedures, in order to improve their psycho social condition.
ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Identify the psychosocial, socio-economic needs of patients.
Actively promote the availability of counseling services and carry out individual or in group counseling, basic psycho educational sessions, to patients, their families (when needed), in order to alleviate their psychosocial difficulties within the project scope.
Refer patients to other specialists or other institutions for further assistance, when necessary in order to propose the best support available.
Participate in the creation of any material needed for counseling activities and look after it,
Keep files and statistics of daily activities updated and participate in team meetings to share experiencesand discuss special cases with other counselors, preserving confidentiality.
Inform line manager of any problem of any kind arising during the day-to-day activities.
Take active part in trainings, supervisions, case discussions and support the line manager when necessary in doing sensitization for DWBI staff or external partners about mental health /psychosocial issues.
Discuss difficulties and problems in counseling with supervisor.
