Transport association calls for strike on Apr 17
All commercial transportation providers, including taxis, buses, minibuses, and trucks, have said that they would observe a one-day “Chakka Jam” strike in the J&K UT on April 17.
The All J&K Transport Welfare Association met under the leadership of Ajit Singh today and decided on something in this respect. The meeting was attended by all of the presidents, representatives, and members of the commercial transportation associations and unions, including those for trucks, tankers, buses, minibuses, Tempo, and taxis, among others.
The speakers spoke fiercely against the JKUT Administration’s behaviour and said that they were tired of the authorities in charge of the situation’s handling. Despite the Association’s persistent and honest attempts to address the long-standing concerns of the transporters by making submissions to the higher authorities, they claimed that the officers’ casual manner and uncaring position has compelled them to choose an agitational course.
