LG inaugurates North India’s largest Zoo in Jammu

The Jammu and Kashmir UT LG Manoj Sinha with other top govt officials on Monday inaugurated the much awaited Jambu Zoo at Jammu, the largest zoo in North India.

Named after the king of Jammu, Jamboo Lochan, the Jamboo zoo was conceptualised in 2016.

The LG with J&K Chief Secretary and DFO present on the occasion took stock of the arrangements, including security, water management, animal enclosures safety of animals and staff hand viewed the zoo, which has been thrown opened for the public.

Several locals were also seen going to the new opened zoo.  The ticket entry rate for the adults is Rs 80, while children from age (5-12yrs) will be charged Rs 40, while infants from age (0-5yrs) will be charged no entry fee.

However, a Private School Group upto 5th Class will be charged entry fee of Rs 20 per students, a Private School Group from 6th-12th Class will be charged of Rs 30 per students, a Govt School Group will be charged Rs 10 per students and a Specially-abled person will be charged Rs 40 and a Foreigner will be charged entry fee of Rs 200.

The wild life department of Jammu has said that there will be free entry in the first week
