NIUA, a premier Autonomous Institute for urban research, training and information dissemination, supported by Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Govt. of India, invites applications for the post of DIRECTOR.

The duration of appointment of Director is five years. The post is in Pay Matrix 15 (Pay Scale Rs. 1,82,200 – 2,24,100) with admissible Central Government allowances. The post has the facility of car for official purposes. The gross emoluments is around Rs. 3.20 lakh per month including HRA (27% of Basic Pay). Director will also have the option to avail suitable equivalent rent free accommodation provided by NIUA on payment of License Fee, in lieu of HRA.

Essential Educational Qualifications :

i) Ph.D or Post-Graduate with recognized published research work in any social science discipline/urban and regional planning/ management with specialization in fields related to urban economics and management.

ii) Published research work of high standard.

Essential Professional Qualification :

Membership in reputed Professional Institutions.

Experience :

Not less than 20 years’ experience in teaching or research or urban administration at senior level. Should have participated in policy-making at national/international level and should have the capacity and aptitude to mobilize and motivate an inter-disciplinary team of professionals, academic experts to prepare and negotiate project proposals in the field of city/ urban/ regional planning and development with state, national and international organizations.

Age :

Maximum – 55 years

Minimum – 45 years

Age relaxable by 5 years in case of Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe Candidate Relaxation in age and experience can be considered to the deserving candidates by the Search-cum-Selection Committee.
