Infiltration bid foiled 2 terrorists shot dead at LoC in Uri
Army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district and killed two terrorists
An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Uri sector yesterday evening.
The gunfight started when security forces launched a search operation in Bajrang-Uri sector following specific information about the presence of some infiltrating militants.
They said the hiding militants opened fire on the security personnel, who retaliated, thereby triggering a gunfight.
Meanwhile, the Army’s Chinar Corps, in a post on ‘X’, said: “Based on specific intelligence inputs, an anti-infiltration Operation was launched in the Uri sector. Contact was established with infiltrating terrorists and operations are in progress.”
An official said that two militants are believed to be dead. However, bodies were not retrieved so far.
On June 19, two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants were killed while two security personnel were injured in an encounter that broke out in the Rafiabad area of Baramulla district. On 17th June, a local militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Aragam Bandipora

Security forces on Saturday foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu & Kashmir’s Uri sector.
Officials said that the security forces, including the Army, foiled the infiltration bid in Uri’s Gohallan area in Baramulla district.
The officials said, “A group of terrorists was noticed by the security forces trying to sneak into this side of the LoC in the Gohallan area of Uri. The group was challenged by the security forces. The infiltration bid was foiled.”
Further details on this are awaited, said officials.
Terrorist activities have increased during the last fortnight in J&K. The intelligence agencies are attributing this to the last-ditch efforts by the terrorists to derail the peace in J&K.
With the Centre to soon begin the process of holding the Assembly elections in the UT, the terror elements are trying to create disturbances.
