Traffic Police Jammu Advisory On The Eve of Dussehra Festival 2024

Jammu News: On the eve of Dussehra Festival 2024, Jhanki’s are being taken out in Jammu city on 12.10.2024. The Dussehra Jhanki’s will pass through the following routes:-

ROUTE OF JHANKI NO. 01- (Old City Jammu)

From Dewan Mandir- Moti Bazar a Purani Mandi- City Chowk -Kanak Mandl- Rajinder Bazaar-Ver Marg and will reach at the Chowk of Historical temple of Sh Raghunath Ji — Raghunath Bazar- Shalamar Road- and finally will reach at Parade Ground Jammu. Timing:- 03:30 PM to 05:30 PM.

ROUTE OF JHANKI NO. 02- (Gandhi Nagar) From Shri Lakshmi Narayan Ji Temple Gandhi Nagar- through NB Block- Cole Market- Govt. Quarters- Shiv Mandir- Last Morh- Back Side higher secondary school and culmination at Gate no. 02 at Dussehra ground Gandhi Nagar. Timing:- 4:00 PM to 05:30 PM

A large number of devotees/prominent citizens are expected to accompany the Jhankies. In order to ensure smooth passage of Shobha Yatra there shall be few traffic restrictions and diversions:-

DIVERSIONS :-

1. Traffic coming from Vivekanand Chowk /Hari Market side towards Raghunath Bazar will be diverted to other routes at the time of procession/Jhanki.

2. Traffic coming from City Chowk towards Kanak Mandi will be diverted to other routes till culmination of procession/Jhanki

3. The Jhankie’s will be stationed at Raghunath ji Temple and thereafter shall proceed towards parade ground Jammu via Shalamar. There shall be partial diversion of all the vehicles coming towards the route of the Jhanki.

4. There shall be diversion at J.P Chowk/Parade during the movement of the Jhanki.

Also there shall be restrictions on the movement of vehicles on the Apsara road as well as on the road at the back side of the Apsara theatre.

The public in general is requested to co-operate with the Traffic Police and to avoid movement on the routes mentioned above during the Jhanki’s. Inconvenience to General Public is regretted.
