Notification for 872 Posts of Accounts Assistant for State/District Cadres: JKSSB

Whereas, the J&K Services Selection Board advertised 872 posts of Accounts Assistant for State/District Cadres vide advertisement notice no. 07 of 2010 dated 12.11.2010;
Whereas, following criteria was notified by the Board to make selections of eligible candidates:-
Graduation : 70 points pro rata basis
Post Graduation : 10 points pro rata basis
Viva : 20 points
Whereas, in following the above said criteria, the Board also included B.Ed as graduation, which was challenged by some candidates vide SWP No. 586/2011 in the Srinagar wing of .1&.K High Court; and
Whereas, the Hon’ble High Court vide its judgements, dated 30.04.2012 in SWP No. 586/2011 read with other dated 28.11.2014 (in several clubbed SWPs) read with final judgement dated 01.02.2017 in LPA, put the matter to rest by stating that B.Ed could not be considered as Graduation in the proposed criteria and kept the remaining criteria and procedure of selection intact as advertised in the first place; and
Whereas, consequently the Board is to proceed as under:-
Reframe the shortlist for each District Cadre and State Cadre afresh by identifying and excluding all candidates who got shortlisted for viva-voce solely on the basis of B.Ed (as Graduation) in the earlier shortlist,
The candidates of B.Ed will, however, be considered on the basis of their other eligible Graduation degree, if entered in the OMR form,
The criteria of selection shall remain same, i.e, as under:-
Graduation : 70 points pro rata basis
Post Graduation : 10 points pro rata basis
Viva : 20 points
As such, the Board will have to conduct viva for those candidates who become eligible in the fresh Shortlist but did not figure in the earlier one. There will be no requirement of viva for those who figured in the earlier as well as the fresh Shortlist and who had already been called for viva.
The schedule of viva for freshly shortlisted candidates will be announced shortly. The final selection list will, accordingly, be published after the above exercise is concluded. This is issued for the information of all aspirants of the subject notification.
