The Department of Economics, Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora, Kashmir will conduct a walk-in interview for the engagement of a Research Assistant for ICSSR funded study titled “Community-based homestay tourism in Kashmir: Exploring its potential, vulnerabilities, and challenges” under the Vision Viksit Bharat 2047. The engagement will be governed by the following terms and conditions.

Eligibility :
Ph.D./M.Phil/Post-graduation in subject relevant to the research area of the project or any social science discipline with a minimum of 55 % marks.
Salary : Rs. 37,000 per month (consolidated)
Date of Walk-in Interview : 25th October, 2024

Desirable skills and experience :
Strong command on data entry using Ms. Excel.
Basic knowledge of statistical software, preferably STATA.
Good academic writing skills.
Other terms and conditions :
The engagement is purely on temporary basis. It can be terminated anytime, without giving prior notice, if the performance of the candidate is not satisfactory. The performance shall be evaluated on monthly basis.
The release of the salary will be subject to the release of funds by the funding agency.
No TA/DA shall be provided to the applicants for appearing in the walk-in interview.
The Research Assistant shall not be provided authorship in the publications from this project.
The selected candidate must join immediately upon receiving the appointment order.
