Baramulla Attack Update : 2 soldiers among 4 martyred in ambush on Army in Baramulla

Kashmir News  : A highly armed group of militants today ambushed an Army vehicle in Bota Pathri area of Baramulla district near the Line of Control (LoC) martyring two Army personnel and two porters.

An official said that a group of highly armed terrorists targeted the Army vehicle in the high security area of Bota Pathri near the tourist resort of Gulmarg in Baramulla district today. He said that two soldiers and an equal number of porters were martyred in the attack and three soldiers were injured.

The two porters have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad and Zahoor Ahmad, both residents of Boniyar in Baramulla district.

The injured have been moved to Gulmarg hospital, where after initial treatment, they were shifted to 92 Base Army Hospital in Srinagar.

Additional reinforcements have been sent to the area, and a major search operation has been launched against the militants responsible for the attack.

The attack comes after last week’s attack on migrant workers in Gangangeer area of Ganderbal in which a Kashmiri doctor and six migrant workers were killed.

Lt Governor Manoj Sinha while condemning the attack on Army, directed for swift action against the terrorists responsible for the attack.

“Spoke to top Army officials on the heinous terror attack in Bota Pathri sector. Directed for swift & befitting reply to neutralise terrorists. Operation in progress. Sacrifice of our martyrs will not go in vain. Condolences to their families. Praying for speedy recovery of the injured,”, he posted on X.

The LG expressed deepest condolences to the families of Army porters martyred in the terrorist attack and directed DC Baramulla Minga Sherpa to provide all assistance to next of kin.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the terrorist attack on Army vehicles in the Bota Pathri area of Gulmarg.

Omar expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the attack, describing the incident as “very unfortunate”.

The Chief Minister also extended his prayers for the swift and complete recovery of those injured in the attack.

“Very unfortunate news about the attack on the Army vehicles in the Bota Pathri area of North Kashmir which has resulted in some casualties & injuries,” he posted on X.

He said that this recent spate of attacks in Kashmir is a matter of serious concern. “I condemn this attack in the strongest possible terms & send my condolences to the loved ones of the people who lost their lives. I also pray that the injured make a complete & swift recovery,” he said
