Applications for admission to the First Year of Three Years Diploma Course in Handloom & Textile Technology (DHTT) and Second Year of Three Years Diploma Course in Handloom & Textile Technology (DHTT) directly under LATERAL ENTRY SCHEME for the session 2025-26-Reg.

ADMISSION NOTIFICATION

Applications are invited on prescribed format (as per Annexure-II &III) for selection of candidates for admission to the First Year of Three Years Diploma Course in Handloom & Textile Technology (DHTT) and Second Year of Three Years Diploma Course in Handloom & Textile Technology (DHTT) directly under LATERAL ENTRY SCHEME for the session 2025-26, at the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, Jodhpur. The eligibility criteria and other details for admission to the Diploma Programme in Handloom & Textile Technology (DHTT) are given as under:-

1. Eligibility Criteria and Essential Qualification:

I. The candidates will undergo bridge courses for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, offered by IIHT Jodhpur, as per the guidelines.

II. In case of the Board having system of grading in 10th / 12th Examination, the candidate must choose the proof of details of marks with their application form to enable the selection committee to prepare merit list which is prepared on the basis of marks secured.

2. Age Limit

The age limit for admission to the first year of the Diploma Course in Handloom &Textile Technology for all the categories except SC/ST should be between 15-23 years and for SC/ST candidates it should be between 15-25 years as on 1st – July 2025. In case of admission into the direct second year under Lateral Entry, the maximum age limit will be 27for SC/ST candidates and 25 for other than SC/ST candidates.

3. Reservation

Reservation will be as per the JK UT Government Policy. In addition, a minimum 20% of the total seats allotted to the UT are reserved for candidates belonging to Weavers Community. Shortfall if any will be met out from the candidates other than weaver’s community and one seat is reserved for the economically weaker section (EWS) candidate.

4. Stipend

Each student admitted into the course, both to I year and II year under lateral entry, will be eligible for a Monthly Stipend of Rs. 2500/- to be paid 50% by Central Govt. and 50% by State Government as per the guidelines, for the duration of course (tenable for 10 months per annum).

i. The payment of stipend is linked to the attendance and academic performance. Accordingly, the student must have 80% of class attendance to become eligible for the monthly stipend.

ii. The student must not have any back paper and in special cases, one back paper is allowed to become eligible to get stipend.

iii. The student selected for admission will be required to submit a declaration on a non-judicial stamp-paper (Rs. 100/-) duly attested by Notary in the prescribed form.

5. Application form

Application forms shall be available in the Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Jammu(JLN Udyog Bhawan, 3rd Floor, Rail Head Complex, Jammu) and in the Offices of all the Assistant Directors Handlooms/Handicrafts of Jammu division. Besides, the application forms can be downloaded from the official website of Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Jammu (www.dirhandicraftshandloomjmu.jk.gov.in)

Application forms complete in all respect along with self attested copies of requisite documents shall be submitted in the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom, Jammu,3rd Floor, JLN Udyog Bhawan, Rail Head Complex, Jammu or in the offices of Assistant Director Handloom/Handicrafts of respective districts by or before 10.06.2025.

Self-attested documents to be attached with forms:-

1. Copy of Educational Qualification Certificates.

2. Copy of Matriculation Certificate as D.O.B. proof.

3. Marks list of 10th / 12th .

4. Character Certificate.

5. Domicile Certificate.

6. Copy of Aadhar Card.

7. Reserved Category Certificate, if any*

8. Any other relevant document.

Note: The candidate must submit one set of self-attested copies of certificates/testimonials from the last school or college attended and all other certificates if any. The Transfer Certificate/School Leaving Certificate from the last School/College attended will have to be submitted in original at the time of admission.

No TA/DA will be given to candidates for attending the counseling at Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, Jodhpur.

*If the candidate belongs to SC, ST, OBC, Weavers’ Community, Economically Weaker Section he/ she must submit self- attested copy of the certificate from the Competent Authority with the application form. OBC issued not older than 3 years from the closing date of application, EWS issued not older than 1 year from the closing date of application, Weaver Certificate should be issued not older than 6 months.
