SHRI MACHAIL MATA YATRA – 2025 ADVISORY
In view of the forthcoming Shri Machail Mata Yatra – 2025, the following advisory is issued in the interest of public safety and convenience, especially for devotees and pilgrims planning to take part in the sacred journey.
All are requested to take note of the guidelines below and adhere to them strictly to ensure a smooth and spiritually fulfilling experience:
1. Only 8,000 Nos. of pilgrims shall be allowed per day to move from base camp Gulabgarh to Holy Machail Mata Shrine on foot and out of which 6000 Nos. of pilgrims shall be allowed through online registration and 2000 pilgrims are allowed through offline mode at registration counters Sarkoot, Gulabgarh and Chishoti.
2. Medical teams have been deployed along the route at various designated locations to look after health and well-being of pilgrims. These teams are equipped to deal with emergencies and provide first aid when needed.
3. All pilgrims are urged to carry along valid identification and registration proof during the journey.
4. Security personnel will be posted throughout the route to keep up law and order and watch over the safety of all participants.
5. Pilgrims are requested to follow through with instructions issued by the authorities and stay away from restricted or unsafe areas.
Timing of Journey
The following cut off time for Yatra journey shall be in force till 5th of September 2025:
Departure
Kishtwar to Gulabgarh- 05:00 AM to 05:00 PM
Gulabgarh to Machail- 05:00 AM to 05:00 PM
Arrival
Machail to Gulabgarh- 05:00 AM to 05:00 PM
Gulabgarh to Kishtwar- 05:00 AM to 05:00 PM

DO’S FOR THE YATRIES
1. Online/offline registration of all yatries is mandatory.
2. Do online register via official website www.shrimachailmatayatra.com to avoid inconvenience standing in long queues.
3. Offline registration at Registration Counter shall be available at Shri Gori Shankar Mandir Sarkoot, BDO Office Gulabgarh and Chishoti.
4. Do carry Yatra/registration slip with Aadhar card and produce the same at Dondi Morh Gulabgarh and Darshani Gate Machail. No devotee shall be allowed without these documents.
5. Do carry sufficient woolen clothing as temperatures may abruptly fall.
6. Do carry umbrella, raincoat, and waterproof shoes, as the weather is unpredictable.
7. Do keep clothes and edibles in a suitable waterproof bag.
8. Do keep a note in your pocket with name, address, phone number, ID proof, and registration slip for emergencies.
9. Do help fellow yatries and perform yatra with a pious mind. Follow all SoPs and guidelines issued by District Administration.
10. Seek Police assistance at the nearest control room in case of any mishappening.
11. Strictly follow instructions issued by the District Administration, Kishtwar.
12. Private vehicles beyond Gulabgarh shall not be allowed.
DON’TS FOR THE YATRIES
1. Don’t attempt shortcuts; always use marked routes.
2. Don’t go off the designated path, especially where warning signs are placed.
3. Don’t do anything that pollutes or disturbs the environment.
4. Don’t bring single-use plastic/polythene (banned in J&K).
5. Don’t carry expensive jewellery.
6. Don’t overload yourself, especially on steep roads.
7. Don’t try to wash hands/clothes in rivers.
8. Don’t follow Gulabgarh – Matti old Yatra route.
9. Use of alcohol/intoxicants/tobacco/Pan/Gutkas is strictly prohibited during the Yatra.
10. Don’t use high beam of vehicles at night.
11. Don’t try to overtake in Lidrari to Paddar area.
12. Don’t over speed your vehicle.
13. Don’t park your vehicle in No Parking Zone.
14. Don’t use slippers as the on foot track is steep.
