Advertisement for Engagement of Para Legal Volunteers under J&K Legal Services Authority

Vide communication no. JKLSA/LS/22/2021/1570-72 Dated:- 25/08/2025 J&K Legal Services Authority has directed this authority to issue an advertisement inviting applications for PLVs. In pursuance of this communication DLSA Udhampur invites applications from eligible persons for the PLV post.

Eligibility Categories : Teachers (including retired teachers), Retired Government Servants and Senior Citizens, MSW students and teachers, Anganwadi Workers, Doctors/Physicians, Students and Law Students (till enrolment as advocates), Members of non-political service-oriented NGOs/Clubs, Women Neighborhood Groups, Self Help Groups (including marginalized/vulnerable groups), Educated prisoners with good conduct serving long-term sentences, and any other persons deemed fit by the DLSA/TLSC.

Terms of Engagement : It is clearly mentioned that the work of PLVS does not carry any salary, remuneration or wages, and that only honorarium as fixed by the J&K LSA from time to time shall be payable.

Applications will be accepted w.e.f 01st September 2025 to 15th September, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 04:00 PM.

Venue for Submission of form : Office of the Secretary/Staff, District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur at District Court Complex Udhampur.

Method of Selection : Through Interview. Preference shall be given to women candidates while considering the applications, and adequate representation shall also be ensured from SC/ST, minority and other backward classes, in accordance with the Para Legal Volunteers Scheme (Revised).
