Jammu-Srinagar national highway reopenes partially for LMVs after eight days

Heavy traffic movement remains suspended until the road is fully restored

 

 The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been partially opened for light motor vehicles (LMVs), including passenger vehicles, after remaining closed for eight consecutive days due to massive landslides at Thard in Udhampur district, officials said on Wednesday

Confirming the news, an official told Greater Kashmir that “after remaining closed for eight consecutive days due to massive landslides at Thard in Udhampur district, the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway was partially reopened for passenger vehicles”.

A traffic official said, “light motor vehicles (LMVs) were allowed to ply from 9:20 am, while heavy traffic movement remains suspended until the road is fully restored”.
