India-US Trade Talks in New Delhi
India and the United States will hold trade talks in New Delhi. This follows the U.S. imposing steep tariffs (up to 50%) on Indian exports due to India’s continued purchase of Russian oil. -

India is observing Engineers’ Day in memory of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. The day reinforces the importance of engineering, innovation, infrastructure and nation-building. -

IMD forecasts the monsoon’s withdrawal beginning ~15 September from parts of west Rajasthan, slightly earlier than usual. Meanwhile, heavy to very heavy rainfall warnings are out for Maharashtra and states like Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, parts of Madhya Pradesh, due to a low pressure area over Bay of Bengal. -
Rupee Under Pressure Amid Fed Uncertainty and Tariff Worries
The Indian rupee is facing downward pressure because of uncertainty about the expected upcoming U.S. Federal Reserve rate cut, concerns over U.S. trade tariffs, particularly the additional ones imposed on Indian exports. The currency recently hit new lows. -
