Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the position of Medical Consultants (On Contract) :
Name of the Post : Medical Consultants
Number of Posts : Two (02)
One each at Corporate Headquarters – Srinagar and Zonal Office Jammu.
Qualification : MBBS degree from any university recognized by the Medical Council of India in the allopathic system of medicine. (The Bank reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility standards in order to limit the number of candidates to be called for interview).
Medical Consultant should have necessary registration with National Medical Commission (NMC)/ MCI or the concerned State/ UT Medical Councils.
Experience :
Minimum 5 (five) years of experience in any hospital or as Medical Practitioner.
Preference shall be given to General Physician/s having good experience.
Job Description :
a. Medical Consultant shall be required to provide medical consultation to the employees of the Bank and their dependents.
b. Medical Consultant shall also examine any employee of the Bank or his/ her dependent and give expert opinion as and when referred to in the interest of the Bank
c. Medical Consultant shall give professional opinion for the medical claims/ documents of the employees of the Bank which may be referred to him/ her from time to time
d. Medical Consultant shall give professional opinion including reasonableness of the cost of treatment pertaining to the various items of medical claims as and when the same are referred.
e. Medical Consultant shall give free advice, prescribe medicines and administer injections free of charge to the members of the staff including touring staff of the Bank, the members of their families including dependent parents and retired employees/ their spouses who are members of the Medical Insurance Scheme. Medical Consultant should be available for consultation at private clinic in urgent cases in respect of employees of the Bank at any time with charges at the rate prescribed in the schedule.
f. Medical Consultant will be required to perform duties similar to those of a General Medical Practitioner irrespective of whatever medical qualifications he/ she may possess/ acquire in future.
g. Treatment of emergency cases in the Bank’s premises or outside the Bank’s premises and reference to appropriate Hospitals whenever called upon to attend even when such necessity arises outside your normal working hours.
h. Medical Consultant shall accompany the patient to the hospital, in case of Cardio-vascular or other major emergencies and accidents, if available at the location.
i. Medical Consultant shall visit any member of the Bank’s Staff (Executives) staying in the Bank provided premises whenever required to do so by the Bank and submit a report on their health.
j. Medical Consultant shall issue certificate in support of leave on medical grounds wherever necessary and countersign the certificates produced by the employees from other qualified medical practitioners, if satisfied about the genuineness of the case.
k. Medical Consultant will certify in such form as may be prescribed by the Bank from time to time as to the state of health and/ or fitness for service of any employee or any prospective employee who may be selected for appointment in the Bank.
l. Medical Consultant shall attend to any other work assigned by the Bank from time to time relating to administration of Bank’s Medical Facilities Scheme as are generally performed/ required to be performed by a General Medical Practitioner
Selection Process :
The applications shall be screened for shortlisting of the eligible candidates on the basis of qualification, experience and suitability of the candidate. The shortlisted candidates will be called for Interview/Interaction to assess knowledge, experience and skill.
