JK Weather Update for one week
The Meteorological Centre Srinagar today issued a forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, indicating a mix of dry and wet spells over the next few days.
From September 30th, the region is expected to experience generally dry weather, with a similar trend predicted from October 1st to 4th. However, thereโs a possibility of light rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds towards the late evening and night during this period.
A significant change in weather is expected from October 5th to 7th, with generally cloudy skies and intermittent spells of light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. The higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir may experience light to moderate snowfall during this period.
From October 8th to 10th, the region is likely to experience dry weather again.
Farmers are advised to continue harvesting paddy and other horticultural crops, including safe storage and other farm operations, until October 4th afternoon. A significant fall in day temperature is expected during October 5th and 6th.
Travelers, transporters, tourists, and trekkers are advised to plan accordingly, as thereโs a possibility of thunderstorms, gusty winds, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones at vulnerable places.
The region may also witness its first snowfall of the season over the higher reaches of North, Central, and South Kashmir, higher reaches of Chenab Valley, and important passes during October 5th and 6th.
