   From 4 October 2025, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will move to a continuous settlement model so that cheques are cleared within hours (instead of 1–2 business days).

   Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the Bihta campus of the National Institute of Technology (Patna) to the nation via videoconference.

3. CBSE–AIIMS launch mental health series

    T. J. S. George, a prominent journalist and columnist, died at the age of 97.

11. Health advisory: no cough syrup for infants under 2
    The central government reminded that cough syrups should not be given to children under age two, following infant deaths linked to unsafe use.
