Cancellation of 2nd Provisional Selection list for the post of Cook/Hostel attendant issued vide No. 11(Secy.) of 2025 dated 19.5.2025.
Whereas, the University, in pursuance to Advertisement No. 10 (Secy.) of 2023 dated 19.07.2023, issued the 2nd Provisional Selection List vide Notification No. 11 (Secy.) of 2025 dated 19.05.2025, wherein Sh. Ankit Ramotra S/o Late Sh. Bachan Lal was provisionally recommended for selection to the post of Cook/Hostel Attendant (SC Category) on the basis of his overall merit in the written test and additional five (05) marks awarded on account of the certificate titled “No Family Member is/was in Government Service” issued by the Sub Divisional Magistrate, R.S. Pura (SDM) vide No. SDMR/UE/2023-24/36 dated 26.08.2023.
Whereas, an objection dated 26.05.2025 was received from Smt. Mamta Devi, another applicant for the said post, questioning the validity of the aforesaid certificate issued in favour of Sh. Ankit Ramotra S/o Lt. Bachan Lal on the ground that the candidate’s father had served in the Defence Department.
Whereas, the University sought verification of the said certificate from the office of the SDM, R.S. Pura, Jammu, who vide communication dated 13.06.2025, clarified that the father of the applicant namely Late Sh. Bachan Lal, had retired from the Defence Department during 2008-09 and expired on 03.08.2018, and that his widow is drawing family pension.
Whereas, during the pendency of the matter, Smt. Mamta Devi filed O.A. No. 61/1224/2025 before the Hon’ble Central Administrative Tribunal, Jammu Bench, Jammu. Hon’ble Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) directed the University to consider the case in light of the clarification issued by the SDM, R.S. Pura dated 26.06.2025 and after granting an opportunity of hearing to the parties concerned.
