Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) is observed today to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India on 26 November 1949.
As part of the observance, the government will host a national function in the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan. The Preamble will be read out, and the Constitution will be digitally released in nine regional languages along with a commemorative booklet highlighting its art and calligraphy.

A pellet plant in Rewari, Haryana was inaugurated โ it will produce biomass pellets from crop residue (paddy straw, mustard straw, cotton stalks) for thermal-power co-firing. The move supports environmental goals and aims to give farmers an additional income stream.
The government-affiliated National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) got a new Executive Chairman: Vikram Nath.
Under the national push for tech & scientific advancement: the national-level National Quantum Mission continues to expand, with infrastructure development and support for quantum-related research, aligning with Indiaโs aim for technological self-reliance.

The countryโs first fully indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, has arrived at Colombo Port (Sri Lanka) to participate in the International Fleet Review 2025 โ underlining strengthening maritime cooperation and Indiaโs naval outreach.
The ongoing defence cooperation between India and Nepal received a boost with the start of the 19th edition of the joint exercise SURYAKIRANโXIX in Pithoragarh. The exercise involves personnel from both forces, working on sub-conventional operations, counter-terrorism training, HADR (Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief), and more.

In Andhra Pradesh, a new scheme named Rythanna Meekosam was launched to support farmers through measures like improved water security, demand-based cultivation, agri-tech adoption, food processing, and stronger market linkages โ aimed at modernising agriculture and reducing reliance on purely traditional methods.

At the recently concluded COP30 in Belรฉm, Brazil, India reiterated its stance on climate justice and financial equity. The country emphasized that developed nations have not fulfilled their climate-finance commitments under the 1992 Rio Earth Summit, and underlined that mechanisms like the Paris Agreement should honor the responsibility of developed countries for mitigation/adaptation support โ not as charity but as historical obligation.
