🏛️ National & Policy
The government has approved a major scheme to boost manufacturing of rare-earth permanent magnets — the approved outlay is ₹7,280 crore under a plan to build integrated capacity of 6,000 MTPA covering full value chain: rare-earth oxide to finished magnets. This is aimed at supporting EVs and renewable-energy sectors.
The first advance estimates for Kharif 2025-26 indicate India’s total food-grain production at 173.33 million tonnes. Rice production alone is estimated at over 124 million tonnes — about 1.73 million tonnes higher than last year.

28 November is also observed as Red Planet Day, commemorating the launch of Mariner 4 in 1964 — the first successful interplanetary mission that sent close-up images of the surface of Mars. The day promotes interest in space science and astronomy.
🧑💼 Governance & Others
There were major enforcement actions: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out raids across medical colleges and private premises in 10 states concerning a bribery case — involving some high-level former officials from regulatory bodies and the health ministry.
Air-quality in Delhi-NCR improved, and the GRAP Phase III restrictions have been lifted — though the region still requires vigilance due to pollution.
