2 Teachers Suspended; Action Initiated Against 34 Schools In Rajouri For MDM Lapses, Poor Performance

The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri has ordered disciplinary action after an inspection of 200 schools found serious lapses in the Mid-Day Meal scheme and poor academic performance.

Officials said 34 schools failed to serve meals as per the approved menu, while 11 schools showed poor academic results, including 7 that also violated MDM norms and 2 where meals were not cooked at all.

They said two teachers—Farnaz Kouser of PS Dhara Pathana and Mohammad Altaf of PS Namble Kalyan—were placed under suspension for leaving their schools after marking attendance without informing authorities.

The salaries of teachers of 11 underperforming schools have also been withheld for December until improvement is seen, while staff of 34 schools have been asked to submit written explanations within two days, failing which disciplinary action will follow.
