3 Teachers get Show Cause Notice for absence in J&K

On the directions of CEO Rajouri, the Zonal Education Officer Rajouri conducted a surprise inspection at Primary School, Ward No. 4, Rajouri, on Saturday to assess staff punctuality, attendance, and the implementation of the PM Poshan (Mid-Day Meal) Scheme.

During the visit, it was found that out of the five sanctioned staff members, only one teacher, Nazia Akhtar, was present on duty, while Shagufta Dar was on sanctioned leave.

The remaining three teachers Meenakshi Sharma, Uzma Naz, and Sheetal Moni were found absent from duty without prior permission or any intimation.

Taking a serious view, CEO made it clear that absenteeism in schools will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He directed all ZEOs to intensify inspections and ensure strict adherence to duty norms across the district.

Following the CEO’s directions, the ZEO immediately issued show cause notices to the three absent teachers. They have been instructed to submit their written explanations to the ZEO office on or before Monday, December 8, 2025.

The notice further warns that failure to respond within the stipulated time will be treated as acceptance of wrongdoing, and disciplinary action as per rules will be initiated without further delay.
