University of Kashmir Short-listing Criteria & Selection Scheme
Short-listing Criteria and Selection Scheme for Appointment to Subordinate Positions (up to Level–6) in the University of Kashmir
It is hereby notified for the information of all candidates that the short-listing criteria and scheme for appointment to all sub-ordinate positions in the University of Kashmir up to Level-6 shall be as under:
A. For posts where number of eligible candidates is more than Twenty (20):
1. OMR based Written Test
There will be 80 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) and each correct answer will carry 1 mark.
There will be negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.
The time allotted to the test will be 90 minutes.
2. Skill /Trade Test (Wherever Applicable)
Candidates will be called for Skill/Trade test in the ratio of 1:5 per post on the basis of marks obtained in the OMR based written test.
The Skill/Trade test will carry 20 marks.
Note :
I. In case of posts where both OMR based Written Test and Skill/Trade Test is conducted, the selection will be done on the basis of composite merit obtained in the OMR based Written Test and Skill/Trade Test, and only those candidates will be considered for appointment, in the order of merit, who have appeared in both the tests (OMR & Skill/Trade Test).
II. In case of posts where only OMR based Written Test is conducted, the selection will be done on the basis of merit obtained in the OMR based Written Test only.
B. For posts where number of eligible candidates is less than or equal to Twenty (20) :
There will be no OMR based Written Test for short-listing of candidates and all the eligible candidates will be called/allowed to appear in the OMR based Written Test/Skill/Trade Test whichever is deemed appropriate by the University.
The selection will be done only on the basis of merit obtained by the eligible candidates in the OMR based Written Test/Skill/Trade test (as the case may be)
C. In case, the number of eligible candidates is less than five (5), the post shall be re-advertised.
