Seven Fire Incidents Hit Kashmir in 24 Hours, Army Quarters Gutted in Kupwara
At least seven fire incidents were reported from different parts of the Kashmir Valley during the past 24 hours, officials from the Fire and Emergency Services said on Tuesday.
The officials said Fire and Emergency Services teams responded to all calls promptly, and timely firefighting operations helped bring the blazes under control, preventing any loss of human life.
In Srinagarβs Chanapora area, a fire broke out in a garbage compound. Firefighters reached the spot in time and extinguished the flames before they could spread to nearby structures.
Another fire incident was reported from Fateh Kadal in Srinagar, where the attic portion of a residential house was damaged. Officials said swift action by Fire and Emergency Services personnel prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining houses.
In Noor Colony area of Bandipora district, a residential house was affected by fire. The blaze was controlled in time, thereby limiting damage to the structure.
In Kupwara district, a fire incident occurred inside the 168 MH Army Camp, affecting two residential quarters. Fire and Emergency Services teams managed to control the fire promptly.
Another fire was reported from Nadimarg area of Dooru in Kulgam district, where one residential house was involved. Officials said timely firefighting operations averted a major incident.
In Dikbagh, Nunner area of Ganderbal district, a Chinar tree caught fire. The fire was successfully extinguished by Fire and Emergency Services personnel.
Meanwhile, in Manchattir area of Chowkibal in Kupwara district, two residential houses were damaged in a fire incident. Officials said coordinated efforts by the firefighting teams prevented the fire from spreading further.
Fire and Emergency Services officials reiterated their appeal to inhabitants to follow fire safety guidelines, particularly during the winter season, and urged people to immediately report any fire incident to the nearest fire station or control room.
