He called upon all wings of the organization to work in coordination to meet the expectations of students, parents and other stakeholders, and to effectively implement academic standards on the ground.
Stressing the importance of transparency, efficiency and credibility, the new Chairman said these values must guide both academic and administrative operations of the Board. He reiterated his commitment to student-friendly governance, assuring smooth and timely delivery of services such as conduct of examinations, declaration of results and distribution of textbooks.
JKBOSE staff extended a warm welcome to Sheikh and expressed confidence that the institution would witness greater efficiency and professionalism under his leadership.
The position of Chairman JKBOSE had remained vacant for nearly a year after the completion of the two-year term of the previous Chairman in January 2025. During this period, the responsibilities were handled through additional charge arrangements. Initially, the former Financial Commissioner of the Higher Education Department held the charge until his retirement on December 31, 2025. Following this, the post remained unfilled for over ten days, after which the government entrusted the additional responsibility to the Secretary JKBOSE as a temporary measure.
