Withdrawal of posts of Assistant Superintendent Jails and Computer
Assistant, advertised vide Notification No. 06 of 2025 dated 22.07.2025,
under Item No. 22 and 23 respectively and Junior Assistant, advertised
vide Notification No. 08 of 2025 dated 27.09.2025, under Item No. 235.

Whereas, the Home Department vide Indent No. HOME-Jail/122/2021-01-HOME
[CC No. 34193] dated: 25.10.2024 followed by Indent No. HOME-Jail/122/2021-01-HOME [CC
No. 34193] dated: 07.05.2025, among others, referred various posts under direct Recruitment
to Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board; and

Whereas, the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board vide Advertisement
Notification No. 06 of 2025 dated 22.07.2025, among others, advertised- (02) posts of
Assistant Superintendent Jails and (01) post of Computer Assistant under Item No.
22 & 23 respectively and (03) posts of Junior Assistant under Item No. 235 vide
Advertisement Notification No. 08 of 2025 dated 27.09.2025, of Home Department; and

Whereas, the Home Department vide Letter No. HOME-Jail/22/2022-01-HOME
(CC: 144165) dated 02.01.2026 has now withdrawn the aforementioned posts ab-initio; and

Whereas, para/S.No. 03 of the above referred Advertisement
Notification(s) lays down as under: –
“the actual number of posts may undergo increase or decrease during or before
the completion of the selection process and the JKSSB is not legally liable for any such variation
in the total number of posts advertised for which the final selection list will be issued. The

Advertisement Notification is also subject to the outcome of any writ petition/O.A. pending
before the competent Court of law”.

Now therefore, it is hereby notified for information of all such candidates who
have applied for the post of Assistant Superintendent Jails (02 posts) and Computer
Assistant (01 post) advertised vide Notification No. 06 of 2025 dated: 22.07.2025
under Item No. 22 and 23 respectively and Junior Assistant (03 posts) advertised
vide Notification No. 08 of 2025 dated 27.09.2025 under Item No. 235, UT Cadre,
that these posts stand withdrawn ab-initio.
