Public Notice regarding Traffic Restrictions for Republic Day-2026
On the eve of Republic Day 2026, the main function is to be celebrated at MA Stadium Jammu. The following traffic parking arrangements are put in place for the convenience of general public, participants and invitees.
1. PARKING SLOTS AVAILABLE.
The following 29 Parking slots have been earmarked in connection with Republic Day celebration.

2. PARKING SLOTS FOR PASS HOLDERS: –
General Instructions: –
1) All the Pass holders shall enter to their respective parking slots earmarked for them by Civil Administration and get their vehicles parked accordingly in the allotted parking slot.
2) Car passes shall be pasted on the windscreen of the vehicles to get entry as per allotted parking pass on first come first park basis.
3) No other parking slot/short cut approach towards the allotted parking slot shall be allowed to avoid last moment confusion.
3. PARKING FOR OFFICERS/OFFICIALS DEPLOYED FOR republic day (with PASSES) DUTIES:
All vehicles of Officers/ Officials coming for Duty inside M.A. Stadium Jammu as well as around the stadium shall park their vehicles at Gurudwara Bibi Chand Kour Parking and shall not park their vehicles anywhere on roadside.
PARKING FOR GENERAL PUBLIC (WITHOUT PASSES)
The following Parking slots have been earmarked for general public (without passes) in connection with the Republic Day celebration.

No Vehicle carrying General Public (without Passes) shall be allowed eyon off points mentioned below towards Venue

However, they shall be guided by the Traffic Police Personnel deployed for duty regarding the general parking mentioned above to be used.
RESTRICTED AREAS
i. Fly Over stretch from Green Belt Park to Vigilance Rotary via Bikram Chowk (both Tubes).
ii. Tawi Bridge
iii. Dogra Chowk to J.P Chowk
iv. Bhagat Singh Chowk to Jewal Chowk.
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS / DIVERSIONS
i. All Vehicles carrying students (spectators) coming from Akhnoor/Talab Tillo side shall be diverted from Bakshi Nagar Pulli towards Maheshpora- Shakuntala Crossing – B.C Road – Bus Stand – Jewel Chowk – Dogra Chowk and shall be parked at JDA Parking near Early Times Office. Similarly, the vehicles earning students coming from Janipur, Old City, Nagrota side shall reach Shakuntala Crossing and will follow the same route.
ii. All Buses/ Vehicles carrying students (Spectators), coming from South Jammu towards the Venue, shall divert from Mandir Masjid point towards Right Bank Tawi River Front Parking and shall deboard the students there and park vehicles there
iii. All the PSVs/ Buses/ Mini Buses operating from Kathua, Samba, Bari Brahmana, Srinagar. Udhampur, Katra, Doda, Banihal, Rajouri, Poonch, R.S Pura. Miran Sahib, Bishnah, Gangyal, Mandal Phallian shall be diverted according to alternate routes viz, Kunjwani Chowk, TCP Nagrota, Narwal, Bagh-e- Bridge, Bhagwati Chowk, Main Stop Gandhi Nagar, Asia Crossing via 4th Tawi Bridge, Bhagwati Nagar Rotary, Bakshi Nagar, Canal Head during the celebration of National the Function.
iv. During the celebration of the National festival till conclusion of the functions, strict diversions shall be enforced on ground. However emergency Vehicles shall be allowed.
v. For the convenient movement of general public, Gujjar Nagar Bridge, Sidhra Bridge and 4th Tawi Bridge Bhagwati Nagar are kept free restrictions but shall follow the diversions put in place.
vi. General Public planning to go from City North towards Railway Station / Airport / South side of Jammu City shall opt the following routes during the restriction period :
a) Indira Chowk – J.P Chowk – Vivekananda Chowk – Gujjar Nagar Bridge and further towards the destination.
b) Panjtirthi to Circular Road towards Gujjar Nagar Bridge an routes can be adopted by people willing to go from South to North Side.
c) Moreover, people who intend to go Akhnoor, Talab Tillo, Paloura etc shall adopt 4th Tawi Bridge via Bhagwati Nagar/ Canal head.
Keeping in view the proposed restrictions/diversions, the public in general is requested to co-operate with the Traffic Police/Local Police and plan their travel accordingly to reach their destinations.
