Armed Forces Tribunal Announces New Deputation Vacancy
Applications are invited for filling up the post of Assistant Registrar (Protocol) in the Armed Forces Tribunal, Principal Bench, New Delhi on Deputation (including Short-Term Contract) basis for a period of three years from suitable candidates who fulfil the eligibility conditions.

Eligibility Conditions :
Officers working under Central Government / State Government / Supreme Court of India / High Court / Autonomous bodies having pensionable benefits:
(a) Holding analogous post on regular basis in parent cadre/department; or
(b) With five years’ regular service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in Pay Matrix Level–8 (₹47,600–1,51,100); or
(c) With seven years’ regular service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in Pay Matrix Level–7 (₹44,900–1,42,400).
Educational Qualification and Experience:
Essential:
Degree of a recognized University or equivalent, and experience in protocol-related work.
Desirable:
Degree in Law and having experience in protocol work.
Note:
The period of deputation including the period of deputation in another cadre/post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization/department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed three years.
The pay of the officer selected on deputation basis will be governed by DoPT O.M. No. 6/8/2009-Estt (Pay-II) dated 17.06.2010, as amended from time to time.
The departmental officers in the feeder grade who are in direct line of promotion shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation. Similarly, a deputationist in the Armed Forces Tribunal shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion in the Armed Forces Tribunal.
The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
The applications in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-II of the eligible officers, who can spare in the event of his/her selection, may be forwarded to the Principal Registrar, Armed Forces Tribunal, Principal Bench, West Block-VIII, Sector-I, R.K. Puram, New Delhi – 110066 by the Department by 03.02.2026 along with photo copies of the Annual Confidential Reports for the last five years of the candidates along with Vigilance Clearance Certificate and there is no disciplinary case pending/contemplated against him/her.

The applications received without supporting documents, photographs, unsigned and incomplete in any manner, shall be summarily rejected.
It may please be noted that this Office is not yet enlisted in Directorate of Estate for allotment of GPRA (General Pool Residential Accommodation).
During the period of deputation, if the deputationist expresses a willingness to be absorbed against the deputation post, such an application shall be considered in accordance with the provisions pertaining to absorption at an appropriate stage.

The Competent Authority of the Armed Forces Tribunal, Principal Bench, reserves the right to cancel/vary the vacancies, without assigning any reasons at the time of selection process thereof.
Candidates, who have already applied and forwarded through their respective department pursuant to the earlier Circular No. 21/7/2013/Rectt/AFT/PB/Adm-I dated 19.06.2025, need not apply afresh.
