The recruitment consists of 4 successive stages:

Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Important PET Notes :

Candidates’ responsibility to ensure medical fitness for PET – Railways not responsible for injuries

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) – must pass medical examination

Stage 3: Document Verification (DV)

Shortlisting: 1:1 ratio of vacancies based on CBT merit + PET qualification

Candidates must produce original certificates

No additional time given – absence leads to candidature cancellation

Certificates must be in English/Hindi (translated version required otherwise)

Stage 4: Medical Examination (ME)

Conducted by Railway Medical Authorities

Medical appeal option available (one final opportunity on payment)

Candidates found medically unsuitable will NOT be given alternative appointment

Final Merit & Selection

Based on CBT marks (after normalization if applicable)

Subject to PET qualification, DV clearance, and medical fitness

Post/Railway allotment as per candidate’s preference, merit, medical fitness, and vacancy

In case of tie: Older candidate ranked higher; if age also same, alphabetical order of name (A to Z)

No right to appointment – RRB/RRC only recommends; appointment by Railway Administration

Certificate must be as per central list (http://www.ncbc.nic.in)

Must submit self-declaration (Annexure IIA) at DV that they don’t belong to Creamy Layer

Certificate must mention: “Does NOT belong to Creamy Layer as per DOPT OM 36012/22/93-Estt.(SCT) dated 08.09.93, modified vide OM 36033/1/2013-Estt.(Res.) dated 13.09.2017”

OBC in state list but not in central list: NOT eligible for reservation

 

For EWS Candidates:

NOT covered under SC/ST/OBC-NCL

Gross annual family income < Rs. 8 lakh for F.Y. 2024-25

Family should NOT own:

5 acres or more of agricultural land, OR

Residential flat of 1000 sq. ft. or more, OR

Residential plot of 100 sq. yards or more (notified municipalities), OR

Residential plot of 200 sq. yards or more (other areas)

Family: Applicant, parents, siblings <18 years, spouse, children <18 years

Must possess valid Income & Asset Certificate (Annexure III) based on F.Y. 2024-25 income/assets

 

For PwBD Candidates:

Minimum 40% benchmark disability required for reservation/relaxation

Certificate as per Form V/VI of RPwD Rules 2024 (Annexure V-A/V-B)

Must submit Unique Disability Identity (UDID)

General Instructions for RRB Group D CEN 09/2025

Application Rules:

ONE application per candidate – Multiple applications will lead to rejection of ALL applications and debarment from future RRB/RRC exams

Choose only ONE RRB/Railway Zone (cannot be changed later)

Indicate post preferences within chosen Railway Zone

Partial options allowed (will be considered only for opted posts)

No change in preferences after submission

Online application only through official RRB websites (listed in Para 24.0)

Identity Authentication:

Strongly advised to authenticate using DigiLocker or Aadhaar during account creation

Aadhaar-seeded bank account mandatory for fee refund

Candidates using alternate Photo IDs will face stricter scrutiny at all stages

Account Creation:

If already created account for CEN 2024/2025, use same credentials

Valid mobile number and email ID mandatory (will remain unchanged throughout recruitment)

Details in ‘Create an Account’ form CANNOT be modified

Application Modification:

Allowed from 05.03.2026 to 14.03.2026

Fee: Rs. 250/- per modification (non-refundable)

Step 1: Create an Account (if not already created)

Visit official RRB website from the list at Para 24.0

Click on “Create an Account” link

Authenticate using DigiLocker/Aadhaar (strongly recommended)

Enter valid mobile number and email ID (CANNOT be changed later)

Complete OTP verification

Create login credentials

 

Step 2: Fill Online Application

Login with created credentials

Select CEN 09/2025

Choose ONE RRB/Railway Zone (CANNOT be changed)

Fill personal details, educational qualifications

Select post preferences within chosen Railway

Choose examination language (English/Hindi/Regional)

Capture live photograph using webcam/mobile camera

Upload scanned signature (JPG/JPEG, 30-49 KB, black ink, running handwriting)

Upload SC/ST certificate (if claiming free travel pass)

Indicate scribe requirement (if applicable)

Verify all details carefully

 

Step 3: Pay Application Fee

Select payment mode: Internet Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI

Pay Rs. 500/- (General/EWS/OBC-NCL Male) or Rs. 250/- (SC/ST/PwBD/Female/ExSM/Transgender/Minorities/EBC)

Complete payment (all service charges borne by candidate)

Save payment receipt

 

Step 4: Final Submission

After successful payment, application will be accepted
