UGC NET 2025 Results: Declaration Expected by February 4

Thousands of UGC NET candidates are eagerly waiting for their qualification status as the National Testing Agency (NTA) gears up to announce the results of the December 2025 session.

The examination plays a crucial role in determining eligibility for teaching positions and doctoral programmes in universities across India.

According to official updates, the NTA is expected to declare the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) December 2025 results by February 4. Candidates who appeared for the examination will be able to access their scorecards through the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

The UGC NET December 2025 examination was conducted from December 31 to January 7 at various examination centres nationwide. The test assesses candidates’ eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions, and PhD admissions under different categories.

Candidates qualifying under Category 2 and Category 3 will be allowed to use their NET scores for PhD admissions. The validity of these scores will remain one year from the date of result declaration. The results will be published in percentile format, along with raw or normalised marks for subjects conducted in multiple shifts.

Exam Covered Over 80 Subjects

The examination covered more than 80 subjects and was conducted in online mode across two shifts — from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Earlier, the NTA released the provisional answer keys on January 14, giving candidates an opportunity to raise objections until January 17. The final results will be prepared after incorporating changes based on the revised answer keys.

For papers held in multiple shifts, the NTA follows a normalisation process using the equi-percentile method to maintain fairness. Scores are calculated separately for each shift and then combined. In cases of variation between shifts, the lowest percentile corresponding to a specific cut-off is applied uniformly to all candidates.
