Major Boost for JKAS Officers: Special Scale Promotions Approved
(1) Promotion to the Selection Grade of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS).

Government Order No.141-JK(GAD) of 2O26 Dated:02 .02.2026
Sanction is hereby accorded to the promotion of following officers to the Selection Grade of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative
Service [Level 12 (78800-209200)], with immediate effect:
1. Mr. Umesh Sharma
2. Mr. Abid Iqbal Malik
Consequent upon the above, the officer at S. No. 1 namely, Mr. Umesh Sharma, is hereby designated as Additional
Secretary to the Government, School Education Department. The other officer at S.No.2 namely, Mr. Abid Iqbal Malik shall continue at his present place of posting, till further orders.
The above promotions shall be subject to the outcome of writ petition(s), if any, pending before competent court(s) of law.

Sanction is hereby accorded to the promotion of Mr. Dhananter Singh to the Special Scale of Jammu and Kashmir
Administrative Service in pay level 13 (123100-215900), with immediate effect.
Consequent upon the above, Mr. Dhananter Singh is hereby designated as Special Secretary to the Government, Health and
Medical Education Department.
