Over 77000 Posts Vacant in J&K, Recruitment Process Set on Deadline Mode
On February 11, the Jammu and Kashmir Government informed the Legislative Assembly that a total of 77,099 posts are presently lying vacant across various departments of the Union Territory.
These vacancies span Gazetted, Non-Gazetted, and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) categories under both direct recruitment and promotion quotas.

In response to a question raised by MLA Irfan Hafiz Lone, the government said that a number of these posts have already been forwarded to recruiting agencies or formally advertised.
It further assured the House that the vacancies will be filled within a fixed timeframe.

To streamline the process, the administration has introduced measures such as advance recruitment planning, strict compliance with recruitment schedules, closer coordination with recruitment agencies, and the use of technology to ensure transparency and timely appointments.
