J&K GOVT ISSUES ORDER MAKING TEACHERS ELIGIBILITY TEST (TET) COMPULSORY FOR IN-SERVICE TEACHERS
Key Provisions:
• All teachers are required to qualify in the TET.
• In-service teachers with more than five years of service remaining until superannuation must clear the TET within two years. Failure to do so will result in COMPULSORY RETIREMENT (WITH ADMISSIBLE TERMINAL BENEFITS, AS PER RULES).
• Teachers with less than five years of service left before retirement are exempted from qualifying for TET to continue in service (though they may not be eligible for PROMOTIONS UNLESS THEY PASS IT).
