Applications are invited from candidates for the temporary position in an Adhoc Project ‘National Soil Mapping Programme (NSMP)’ (SLUSI) operational in the Division of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Faculty of Agriculture, SKUAST-Jammu as detailed below :

Position : Young Professional II (1)

Emoluments : Rs. 42,000/- (consolidated)

Essential Qualifications : Masters degree in Remote Sensing & GIS/ Geoinformatics/Geospatial applications or Similar.
Experience of handling/ applications of remote sensing and GIS software/data – Minimum 3 years (other than degree programmes)

Eligible applicants can appear for a interview on 10.03.2026 at 11.00 am at Directorate of Research, SKUAST-Jammu.

Terms and conditions

a) The engagement shall be purely Ad hoc, on a temporary and contractual basis.

b) The appointment will be initially for six months and likely to be extended only if the performance of candidate is satisfactory and the budget is available.

c) The candidate shall have no legal right to claim regularization/appointment in SKUAST-Jammu or funding agency by absorption or otherwise against any regular post or any further contractual engagement as the scheme is purely time bound, non-regular and co-terminus with the project.

d) The engagement shall automatically cease with termination of the project or if the performance of the selected candidate is not found satisfactory, whichever is earlier/applicable.

e) The University/Funding Agency reserves the right to withdraw advertised post at any stage, without assigning any reason thereof.

f) The candidate shall have to produce all original documents at the time of Interview.

g) Disputes if any shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Jammu.

h) No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in interview.

i) Desirous candidates are advised to keep on visiting the university website for any update regarding change in date of interview or otherwise. No separate advertisement shall be issued for the same.

j) The decision of Competent Authority, SKUAST-J shall be final and binding in all aspects
