All schools and colleges in the Kashmir Division will remain closed till 7th March 2026

The government made the announcement on Monday, stating that all educational institutions in the region will stay shut as a precautionary step to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

Education Minister Sakina Itoo said the decision has been taken in view of the current situation. She added that authorities are closely monitoring developments, and a decision on reopening institutions will be made after reviewing the ground situation.

The government has announced that all schools and colleges in eight districts of Kashmir will reopen from tomorrow. However, a final decision regarding the reopening of educational institutions in Srinagar and Budgam districts will be made later this evening.

Speaking to news agency, Education Minister Sakina Itoo confirmed that institutions across Kashmir are set to resume functioning.

“We have decided to reopen educational institutions tomorrow in Kashmir.

A decision regarding Srinagar and Budgam districts will be taken in the evening,” she said.

The minister added that if any restrictions are imposed by the authorities tomorrow, schools and colleges in Srinagar and Budgam will remain closed. However, if no such restrictions are enforced, educational institutions in these districts will also reopen along with the rest of Kashmir.

She reiterated that the government will wait until the evening before making a final call on Srinagar and Budgam.
