Educational Qualification :

Educational qualifications for SIDBI Specialist Officers are post-specific and must be from recognized universities/institutes:

Post-wise Educational Qualification

Data Scientist (DS): Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Quantitative Finance or related quantitative discipline. Desirable: PhD in relevant quantitative field, certifications in data science/ML/AI.

AI Specialists (AIS): Graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or related discipline. Post-graduate degree such as M.Tech, M.Sc. (Data Science/AI/ML) or equivalent. Desirable: Certifications in AI/ML/cloud AI.

ML Engineers (MLE): B.E./B.Tech or equivalent in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, Data Engineering, AI or related discipline. Desirable: Master’s degree in computer science/AI/ML/Data Science, certifications in cloud/ML engineering.

Data Engineers (DE): B.E./B.Tech or equivalent in Computer Science, IT, Electronics or related discipline. Desirable: Master’s degree in computer science/data engineering/information systems, certifications in cloud/data platforms.

Data Protection Officer (DPO): Bachelor’s degree (graduation or equivalent) in any discipline. Desirable: Post-graduate in Law (LLM), Technology Law, MBA, Computer Science, Information Security; certifications like CIPP, CIPM, FIP, CIPT, CDPSE, CDPO, CDP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor.

Relationship Manager (RM-CD): Graduate in any discipline; MBA/PGDM (Finance)/CA/CFA or equivalent.

Portfolio Manager (PM): Graduate in any discipline; MBA/PGDM (Finance)/CA/CFA or equivalent with strong exposure to capital markets/ECM/portfolio management.

Strategic Partnerships Manager (SPM): MBA/PGDM or Master’s degree in Finance/Strategy/Marketing/Entrepreneurship/Economics or related field.

Cluster Manager (CM): Bachelor’s degree in Agri Business/Rural Management/Business Administration/Finance/Commerce or related field. Desirable: MBA/PGDM in Agri Business/Rural Management/Sales/Marketing.

 

 Experience Requirements :

Experience requirements (as on February 28, 2026) are post-specific and relevant experience certificates from employer are mandatory:

Data Scientist (DS): Minimum 3 years in data science/advanced analytics/ML modelling in Banks, NBFCs, DFIs, Fintechs or regulated financial institutions.

AI Specialists (AIS): Minimum 4 years in AI/ML development, deployment, and MLOps in banking, fintech or regulated financial services.

ML Engineers (MLE): Minimum 4 years in ML engineering/MLOps/backend engineering with ML systems exposure.

Data Engineers (DE): Minimum 8 years in data engineering/data platform roles in Banks, NBFCs, DFIs, fintechs or regulated financial institutions.

Data Protection Officer (DPO): 15 years in managerial/professional roles (preferably in IT, compliance, legal, risk, information security or finance) with minimum 4 years direct hands-on experience in data protection, privacy regulation, data governance or information security.

Relationship Manager (RM-CD): Minimum 6 years total in Banks/NBFCs with approximately 4 years in deposit mobilisation/institutional liabilities/treasury sales.

Portfolio Manager (PM): Minimum 10 years in portfolio management/investments, ECM/IPO/capital markets, merchant banking/investment banking, AMC/PMS/AIF/DFI/bank treasury roles.

Strategic Partnerships Manager (SPM): Minimum 8 years in strategic partnerships/ecosystem relationships, merchant banking/investment banking/transaction advisory, or DFI/NBFC/bank partnership roles.

Cluster Manager (CM): Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in cluster & PDI activities/business development in banking/financial services or working with MSMEs, FPOs, or NBFC/microfinance institutions.

Selection Process :

The SIDBI Specialist Officers Selection Process 2026 consists of shortlisting of applications followed by Online Personal Interview before a Selection Committee.

Shortlisting: SIDBI will undertake preliminary screening of applications to prepare shortlist of eligible candidates. Merely fulfilling the requirements does not automatically entitle candidature for interview.

Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for online personal interview on a suitable date (to be informed in due course). Interview shall take place online, candidates must ensure availability of necessary infrastructure.

Merit List: Final merit list will be prepared in descending order based on scores obtained in interview only. In case of tie, candidates will be ranked by age in descending order.

Wait List: SIDBI reserves the right to draw wait lists of candidates and consider wait listed candidates for meeting actual requirement.

 

 Salary :

SIDBI Specialist Officers are offered contractual appointments with attractive Cost to Company (CTC) remuneration varying by post:

Contract Period: Initial contract period of 3 years, subject to interim review, extendable for further period up to 2 years at sole discretion of the Bank. Contract can be terminated at 3 months’ notice on either side or salary in lieu thereof.
