Sharanya had gone missing on April 2 while taking part in a 4-kilometre trek to the peak, which is the third-highest in Karnataka at 1,748 metres. The trek was organised under the Madikeri Forest Division and included 15 participants along with an authorised guide.

A 36-year-old software professional from Kerala, GS Sharanya, was safely rescued on Sunday after being missing for three days during a trek at Tadiandamol Peak in the Kodagu district, The Indian Express reported.
Sharanya was found inside an abandoned temple deep in the forest on Sunday evening after an intensive multi-agency search. According to Forest, Ecology, and Environment Minister, Eshwar Khandre, who spoke to her after the rescue, she is in good health and is not facing any complications, as per the report.

After the rescue, the 36-year-old told reporters she “lost her way somehow” but never felt afraid, as reported by The Indian Express. “I could not see anyone when I climbed down. I came to a left-side path but could not find anyone,” she was quoted as saying.
With only a 500-ml bottle of water and no mobile network, she managed to call a colleague before her phone battery died. “On the first day after losing my way, I kept walking until about 6.45 pm. After that, I stayed in an open area near a stream. In the following days, I continued walking, hoping to come across someone. I never really felt afraid, I’m not sure why,” she was quoted by The Indian Express as saying.
