India has issued a fresh advisory for its nationals in Iran, asking them to stay put, shelter in place and avoid any unnecessary movement in view of the evolving situation.

The Embassy of India in Tehran issued a fresh advisory on Tuesday, asking Indian nationals in Iran to remain indoors and limit their movement over the next 48 hours due to the evolving security situation.

In its advisory dated April 7, 2026, the embassy urged Indians to avoid all electric and military installations as well as the upper floors of multi-story buildings and to stay indoors as much as possible. It also asked nationals to coordinate any highway travel strictly with the embassy.

The mission further directed those staying in embassy-arranged hotels to remain inside and maintain regular contact with on-site embassy teams. All Indian nationals have been advised to monitor official updates closely.
