It is hereby notified for information of all the stakeholders that the following amendments have been made to the Regulations governing improvement of performance:

a) The candidates who have passed their Secondary School (Class 10th) examination conducted by JKBOSE are allowed to improve their performances in one or more subjects including additional subjects, if any, but only in the next immediate Annual (Private) / Bi-Annual examination in a single chance to avail the said concession.

Such candidates will not be allowed to improve their performance in the practical examination and marks already obtained in the practical/s previously shall be carried forward.

b) The candidates whose results have been declared “not qualified” and have to re-appear in one or more subjects are also permitted to improve their performance in one or more pass subjects but only in the next immediate Annual (Private) / Bi-Annual examination availing thus only one chance as a concession.

c) The candidates appearing for division improvement, whether re-appear candidates or passed candidates shall be allowed to retain earlier marks in case they do not fair better in the improvement chance.

Further, the candidates of SSE ( Class 10th ), HSE-I ( Class 11th ) and HSE-II ( Class 12th ) who are declared re-appear in their regular examinations and apply for re-evaluation and also appear in the subsequent Annual (Private) Bi-Annual / examinations shall be allowed to retain the better of the two scores. In respect of such, candidates, the appearance in Annual (Private) Bi- Annual examinations shall be treated as “Division Improvement” provided they qualify in re- evaluation.

This notification shall be effective from Annual (Private) Bi-Annual 2026 and onwards. Explanation:

The candidates of SSE (Class 10th) Annual Regular Session (Oct- Nov 2025) who have been declared “qualified” or “not qualified” are eligible to improve their performances in the ensuing Annual (Private) Bi-Annual 2026,
