Thundershowers, Hailstorm Likely in Parts of J&K on Saturday Evening: MeT

Parts of Jammu and Kashmir are likely to witness thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds and hailstorm towards late afternoon or evening on Saturday, the Meteorological Centre Srinagar said.

An official of the MeT department told news agency , brief spells of light rain or thundershowers may occur at isolated places, primarily during the late afternoon or evening hours.

The weather is expected to remain largely dry on April 12, with only isolated light rain spells. Clear conditions are forecast for April 13 and 14, while scattered rain and thundershowers may return on April 16 and 17, the official added.

The MeT office has advised farmers to resume agricultural operations, noting that maximum temperatures are likely to rise gradually over the next five days.

Meanwhile, an independent weather forecaster Faizan Arif advised orchard owners against spraying on April 11 due to the anticipated weather activity.

He said April 12 is expected to remain mostly dry except at isolated places, with spraying recommended during the morning hours. Dry weather is likely to prevail across the region from April 13 to April 15, he added.–(KNS)
