Eligibility Criteria :
Educational Qualification : Candidate must have passed Matriculation Examination with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from the Boards of School Education recognised by Ministry of Education, Govt. of India
Age Limit: Born between 01 Jul 2004 – 31 Dec 2008 (both dates inclusive).
Marital Status: Only unmarried male and unmarried female candidates are eligible. Candidates will have to give a certificate of being ‘unmarried’ at the time of enrolment. Agniveers shall not be permitted to marry during their entire tenure of four years. Marriage during tenure will result in dismissal.
Type of Instruments on which Proficiency Required: Candidates would be required to perform with expertise on one or more instruments such as Keyboard/String/Wind instruments or any other instrument of Indian or foreign origin. Candidates performing on indefinite pitch instruments such as Jazz Drum set, Bass Drum, Snare Drums, Side Drums, Cymbals, Non Chromatic instruments such as bugle & monotone instruments used to produce only one note or drone will not be eligible.
Musical Experience Certificate:
Candidates performing Hindustani or Carnatic Classical music on wind instruments will require a musical experience certificate from any recognized musical institute or organisation of repute.
A certificate of minimum initial grade from international boards such as Trinity College of Music, London or Royal School of Music London etc., will be mandatory for candidates performing western notation or western music on wind instruments.
Other candidates will be required to submit certificates of participation/awards presented at various events.

Agniveers will be paid a package of ₹30,000 per month with a fixed yearly increment. In addition, risk and hardship, dress and travel allowances will be paid.

Selection Process :
Selection of recruits is based on the order of merit based on their performance in Music Ability Test.
Shortlisting: Based on marks obtained in Matriculation examination (All India merit). Only candidates holding valid music certificates will be considered.
Recruitment Process: Physical Fitness Test (PFT) → Written Examination → Music Ability Test → Recruitment Medical Examination.

Written Examination: 50 MCQs (Science & Mathematics + General Awareness), 30 minutes, bilingual, minimum 25% marks required.
Music Ability Test: Qualifying for final selection.

Eligible candidates must apply online through the official Indian Navy portal before the last date.
Step 1 – Visit www.joinindiannavy.gov.in and register.
Step 2 – Fill the online application form with correct details and upload scanned copies of all required documents (including music certificates, Matriculation marksheet, photograph with slate).
Step 3 – Verify and submit the application.
Step 4 – Download and print the application for future reference.
Important Note : Recent passport size colour photograph (taken not before Mar 2026) with name and date written on slate is mandatory. Applications through speed post/registered post will not be accepted.
Final Merit List: Based on performance in Music Ability Test (All India basis).
