TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR

From 14-04-2026, 1600 hrs to 15-04-2026, 1000 hrs, slow movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane traffic between Marog and Kishtwari Pathar, in addition to the breakdown of 02 HMVs and movement of 02 nomadic herds.

Passengers/LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to the apprehension of shooting stones/landslides, movement of nomads towards the valley, as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal, which may cause inconvenience to commuters.

NH-44 (NHW)

The down tube at Shalgari is still blocked due to a landslide. Road clearance work is ongoing.

Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs (Passenger)/Private Cars/HMVs (Goods carriers) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44), i.e., from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.

Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline overtaking and wrong-lane driving will cause congestion. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding road conditions.

SFs Convoy Movement

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44), i.e., from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa. They shall move after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar – Sinthan – Anantnag NH-244

As per orders issued by SDM Chatroo and SDM Kokernag:

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, and after receiving a green signal from road maintenance agencies (NHIDCL), only LMVs (Passenger/Private Cars) shall be allowed to ply from Kishtwar towards Srinagar via Sinthan Top.

Vehicles shall be allowed from PP Parana between 1000 hrs to 1500 hrs only.
No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timing.
TCU Jammu/Ramban/TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned.

SSG ROAD

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions (after receiving a green signal from road maintenance agencies):

LMVs followed by HMVs (up to six tyres only) shall be allowed to ply from Kargil towards Srinagar on the Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari road.

Due to avalanche risk along the Zojila axis, vehicles shall be allowed to move from Minamarg towards Srinagar only after clearance.

No vehicle shall be allowed after 1030 hrs.

Motorists are advised to carry anti-skid chains for better grip on slippery roads.
TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform about cut-off timing.

Mughal Road

As per orders issued by District Magistrates of Shopian and Poonch:

Subject to fair weather and road conditions, and after green signal from GREF:

Only LMVs (Passenger/Private Cars) shall be allowed from both sides via Poonch.

From Chandimarh (Buffliaz) towards Shopian

From Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch

Timing: 1100 hrs to 1500 hrs

No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timing.
TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned.

SF convoy from Kargil towards Srinagar should plan movement to avoid disruption to civilian traffic.
