3 Dead, One Missing As Vehicle Found In Nallah On Mughal Road In Poonch
A tragic incident unfolded on the Mughal Road after four persons travelling in a vehicle went missing last night, triggering a large-scale search and rescue operation by Police.
Acting swiftly on the information, official sources told that police teams from Poonch along with army, SDRF and officials of Health Department launched an extensive search in the area. During the operation on Tuesday, the missing vehicle was traced in a nallah near Chhattapani area.
Upon retrieval of the vehicle, they said, three bodies were recovered from the site, while efforts are underway to trace the fourth missing individual.
The occupants have been identified as Mohammad Bashir (49) son of Akbar Hussain; his father Akbar Hussain (80), son of Ghulam Haider; and Abdul Majeed (30), son of Maneer Hussain, all residents of Mangnar in Poonch, along with driver Shokat Hussain, a resident of Hari Budha.
Sources said two of the deceased have been identified as Abdul Majeed and Shokat Hussain, while the identity of the third deceased was yet to be ascertained among the remaining two individuals.
Search operations are continuing, with authorities making all possible efforts to locate the missing person at the earliest. Further details are awaited as the rescue operation progresses, they added. (GNS)

District Police Poonch on Tuesday recovered two bodies from a nallah near Chhattapani after a search and rescue operation was launched to trace out the missing vehicle along Mughal Road.
Police officials said that four individuals travelling in a vehicle were reported missing yesterday while en-route on the Mughal Road. Acting swiftly on the information, District Police Poonch launched a large-scale search and rescue operation in the area.
During the course of the search operation today, the missing vehicle was traced in a nallah near Chhattapani. Upon retrieval, two dead bodies were recovered from the site, officials said.
They further said that search operations are still underway to locate the remaining missing individuals, and all efforts are being made to trace them at the earliest.
