Advertisement Notice for Senior Residents / Demonstrators – 2026
Applications are invited online from eligible candidates who are domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir for engagement as Senior Residents / Demonstrators in various disciplines on Academic Arrangement Basis / In-service basis, as applicable.
NATURE & TENURE OF APPOINTMENT
The selected candidates shall be engaged initially for one year, extendable up to a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory performance certified annually by the concerned HOD.
Not-in-service candidates shall be engaged under S.O. 364 of 2020 (dated 27-11-2020).
In-service candidates must fulfill all prerequisites under J&K Civil Service Rules, 1979 and produce a valid NOC from the parent department.

Essential Qualification :
MD / MS / DNB / DM / M.Ch / DrNB (as applicable) from an institution recognized by NMC.
Where specified, MD/DNB in Paediatrics or General Medicine is acceptable as an alternate qualification.
Pediatric Biochemistry :
For Medical Candidates (Senior Resident):
MD / DNB in Biochemistry (NMC-recognized)
For Non-Medical Candidates (Demonstrator):
M.Sc. Medical Biochemistry with Ph.D. in Medical Biochemistry
IMPORTANT NOTE
Candidates who have appeared in the final examination of the relevant PG / Post-doctoral course are also eligible to apply.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Selection shall be made only on the basis of performance in MCQ-based Written Test, as per Government Order No. 383-JK (HME) of 2024 dated 20-06-2024.
AGE LIMIT
Maximum age for Senior Residents in broad specialties: 45 years
For Anatomy & Biochemistry: 50 years
(Age calculated as on the cutoff date of advertisement)
IMPORTANT CONDITIONS
Maximum tenure of Senior Residency/Demonstratorship/Tutor is three years in total.
Candidates who have already completed three years are not eligible.
Those who have completed up to 30 months may apply to complete the remaining tenure.
Separate application and fee are required for each discipline/post.
A waiting list shall remain valid for three months.
In case of tie in merit, older candidate shall be preferred.
Experience certificate will be issued only after minimum six months of service.
