Rain, Thundershowers to Affect Most Places in J&K Till May 13: MeT
The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast generally cloudy weather with spells of rain and thundershowers across Jammu and Kashmir on May 11 and 12, while issuing an advisory for hailstorms, lightning and gusty winds in several areas.
According to the MeT department, most places across Kashmir and Jammu divisions are likely to witness light to moderate rain and thundershowers during the two days, particularly during late afternoon and evening/night hours.

Isolated areas may also experience hailstorms, thunder and gusty winds with speeds reaching 50–60 kmph.
The weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy from May 13 to 17, with brief showers at scattered places.
On May 18, generally cloudy conditions with light rain and thundershowers are likely at isolated places, while partly cloudy weather is expected again from May 19 to 21.
In its advisory, the MeT department has urged people to suspend boating and Shikara rides, especially during afternoon and late afternoon hours, in view of possible strong winds and thunderstorms.

Farmers have also been advised to suspend farm operations from May 11 to 13 due to the expected weather conditions.
The department said the weather system may lead to temporary disruption in outdoor activities and urged residents to follow official advisories and exercise caution during thunderstorms and gusty winds.
