Pakistani Terrorist Killed in Poonch Encounter

A Pakistani terrorist affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit was killed in an encounter with security forces in Poonch district on Tuesday while attempting to infiltrate into this side from across the Line of Control (LoC).

Official sources told news agency that the slain terrorist was part of a Lashkar group attempting infiltration when alert troops intercepted the movement, leading to a gunfight in the forward area.

During the exchange of fire, one Pakistani terrorist was neutralised, while search and sanitisation operations were launched in the area to trace any possible accomplices, they said.

Security agencies are maintaining a high alert along the LoC in view of increased infiltration attempts from across the border. (JKNS)
