Eligibility Criteria :

Candidates must fulfil all eligibility conditions as on the last date of online application. All qualifications must be from an Indian University/Institute recognized by AICTE/UGC. No mark sheets or provisional certificates will be entertained; all documents must be uploaded in the prescribed format.

Payment Mode (07B/26 Mining only): State Bank of India has been authorized to collect the fee through a specially opened account. Candidates must approach the nearest SBI branch with the fee payment challan (printed from the portal) for depositing the fee. Alternatively, fee can be paid online through Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card. The online payment option will be available in the online application form. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates are therefore requested to verify their eligibility before paying the application fee.

Selection Process :

Eligible candidates who have appeared and qualified in GATE-2025 in the relevant discipline will be shortlisted for document verification based on GATE-2025 performance and organisational requirements. From among the candidates who apply against the advertisement, candidates will be extended an “Offer of Appointment” subject to meeting the advertised eligibility criteria. Only GATE-2025 marks of 2025 will be valid for EET-2026.

Reservations & Relaxations :

Candidates claiming to belong to any particular category (EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwBD) shall have a valid certificate from a competent authority as per Government guidelines. Relaxations will be extended where they are applicable as per Government norms.

OBC candidates belonging to the “Creamy Layer” are not entitled for concession admissible to OBC-NCL candidates. The OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates are required to submit relevant documents in the prescribed format from a competent authority issued in the current financial year only. The EWS/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Income and Asset Certificate must be in the prescribed format of Government of India issued by a competent authority issued in the current financial year only. Age relaxation for Ex-servicemen (XSM) will be as per Government of India rules.

SC and ST candidates with at least 55% marks in qualifying examination are eligible to apply for the post. The OBC candidates who belong to “Creamy Layer” are not entitled for concession admissible to OBC-NCL candidates and such candidates will have to indicate their category as General.

Service Bond

The selected candidates will be required to execute a service bond of Rs. 3,00,000/- (Civil) and as per NTPC rules (Mining) on joining NTPC and will have to serve the company for at least 3 years after successful completion of one-year training.

Candidates must apply online on the website https://careers.ntpc.co.in in the “All Careers” section using their GATE-2025 registration number. No other mode of application will be entertained. Before applying, candidates must ensure they hold a valid GATE-2025 score card and meet all eligibility criteria. The online application system will generate a unique application number which must be noted for future reference. Candidates must upload all required documents in the prescribed format at the time of online application. The GATE-2025 score card, if filled up correctly, will be reflected as appearing in the score card — no request with respect to change in any data entered will be entertained once the application is submitted successfully.

Scanned copy of latest photograph

Engineering Final Year or Consolidated Marksheet/Transcript clearly indicating percentage of marks in all semesters

Marks conversion formula from University/Institute (for conversion of CGPA/OGPA/DGPA/DSGPA etc. into percentage); conversion formula is not required if marks are already awarded in percentage

Valid Caste/Category Certificate in the prescribed format (for OBC-NCL/EWS/SC/ST candidates); OBC-NCL certificate should be in the current financial year format; EWS Income & Asset Certificate for FY 2026-27 based on income of FY 2025-26

PwBD Certificate if applicable

Important Instructions :
